Greetings friends,
I realize it has been some time since our last conversation on the ol' blog. It seems to me that with the emergence of Twitter in my life the frequency with which I post blog updates has drastically gone down. Rather than several paragraphs every couple of weeks, we are now communicating multiple times daily with 140 characters or less. I have mixed feelings about this development. It is true that we are now privy to the most up-to-date information almost instantaneously (or at least as fast as we can whip out our smart phones, and type out our most recent epiphany), but with these short and constant blurbs we lose something in form. We no longer get complete thoughts, but rather a slew of unfinished snippets.
Perhaps this is not a big deal. Maybe it isn't something that should worry us. But it is something that I've been thinking about. It is just interesting to watch how our communication patterns shift with each new developing generation. I wonder what will come next...
At any rate, I will try my best to balance the two forms from here on out.
